Accepting a failure is one of the hardest things for a person to do.
To accept, own it and take action, while fighting the urge to justify why the failure happen is even harder.
But that is precisely what is needed...if the goal is to get better.
Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are reasons you did not succeed. Maybe even good ones – although those are rare – but at the end of the day, the explanation does not matter. The reason why does not matter.
It does not matter that the dog ate your homework.
